Eleven Albany Middle School Jr. Beta Students attended District Day in Franklinton, LA on January 12, 2008. Due to a lack of space, the only members allowed to attend the meeting were those who were competing.  At Franklinton Middle they competed in and placed in several events.

                        ****Sara Spano placed 4th in the Spelling Bee and will compete at the state level in May.
                        ****The quiz bowl team of Connor Chaffin, Jonah Zieske Kristi Shaffer and Samantha Lopez took 2nd place
                        ****Tayler Lirocchi took 1st place in math; and Jacob Stewart took 6th place in public speaking. These students will
                               be  2nd alternates at the state meeting in May.

           Pictured are 11 of the 90 club members who attended district day:  front (l to r) Matthew Spano and Daniel Tallia; back (l to r) Taylor Callahan, Autumn Walden, Sarah Spano, Samantha Lopez, Connor Chaffin, Jonah Zieske, Kristi Shaffer, Jacob Stewart, and Tayler Lirocchi.  All 90 students will be attending Jr. Beta State Meeting in Lafayette in May.   Albany Middle School is proud to be represented by these and all Beta Members.  The club is under the leadership of Ms. Connie Bond, Ms. Alysha Guidry, Mr. Dale Rhodes, Ms. Amy Webb, Ms. Jolie Gregoire, and Ms. Daphne Lucas.
